Gootloader infection cleaned up

Dear blog owner and visitors,

This blog had been infected to serve up Gootloader malware to Google search victims, via a common tactic known as SEO (Search Engine Optimization) poisioning. Your blog was serving up 160 malicious pages. Your blogged served up malware to 0 visitors.

I tried my best to clean up the infection, but I would do the following:

  • Upgrade WordPress to the latest version (one way the attackers might have gained access to your server)
  • Upgrade all WordPress themes to the latest versions (another way the attackers might have gained access to your server)
  • Upgrade all WordPress plugins (another way the attackers might have gained access to your server), and remove any unnecessary plugins.
  • Verify all users are valid (in case the attackers left a backup account, to get back in)
  • Change all passwords (for WordPress accounts, FTP, SSH, database, etc.) and keys. This is probably how the attackers got in, as they are known to brute force weak passwords
  • Run antivirus scans on your server
  • Block these IPs ( and, either in your firewall, .htaccess file, or in your /etc/hosts file, as these are the attackers command and control servers, which send malicious commands for your blog to execute
  • Check cronjobs (both server and WordPress), aka scheduled tasks. This is a common method that an attacker will use to get back in. If you are not sure, what this is, Google it
  • Consider wiping the server completly, as you do not know how deep the infection is. If you decide not to, I recommend installing some security plugins for WordPress, to try and scan for any remaining malicious files. Integrity Checker, WordPress Core Integrity Checker, Sucuri Security,
and Wordfence Security, all do some level of detection, but not 100% guaranteed
  • Go through the process for Google to recrawl your site, to remove the malcious links (to see what malicious pages there were, Go to Google and search agreement)
  • Check subdomains, to see if they were infected as well
  • Check file permissions

Gootloader (previously Gootkit) malware has been around since 2014, and is used to initally infect a system, and then sell that access off to other attackers, who then usually deploy additional malware, to include ransomware and banking trojans. By cleaning up your blog, it will make a dent in how they infect victims. PLEASE try to keep it up-to-date and secure, so this does not happen again.

Back To School Nail Designs!

untitled183Hi everybody! So today I thought I’d give you guys some summer nail designs! I know summers almost over but we still have about a month left. I’ll be getting to some back to school nail art as well later on in the month. But first I have three new cute designs. Hope you enjoy!

So, negative space manis have been all the rage lately so I though I’d put a fun back to school edgy spin on it. Start by applying a base coat and any other strengtheners and growth formulas you may have. For this design you’ll need nail tape. If you don’t have nail tape then you can always use French tip guide. The nail vinyl’s and studs I’ve used are from if your wondering. There having a back to school sale for 30% off so defiantly go check that out. Start applying a base coat. If you base coat is shiny I suggest adding a matte topcoat to make it look like your real nail. Wait for that to dry for about an hour. This is really important because the nail tape will pull up the polish when you peel it off. Apply your vinyl’s however far apart as you’d like. The effect looks best if you use different sized tape. Once you have your tape on then use any shiny black polish to carefully paint over them. Peel them off immediately so the polish doesn’t get sticky and stretch. Add a thin layer of topcoat and press in your stud. Then apply a generous amount of topcoat on top to make sure your stud doesn’t go anywhere. For my ring finger I painted it the same gold colour as the stud, and my pinky and thumb are just black.

untitled184The next design is a girly glitter gradient. Start by applying a basecoat. Then paint your nails a light pink. Its okay if its a bit shear since the glitter is going to cover the tip. Start by taking a generous amount of a rose gold polish and applying on the tip. Then after you finish your not perfect French tip, take a lot of glitter and apply 1/3 of the way up your nail. Keep adding it until the tip is opaque. Then, taking a striping brush add a few small lines gong up in a few different sizes. Add topcoat and that’s it.

untitled185The last back to school nail design is nerd glasses. Start with a basecoat then pain your nails whatever colour you want. I used a light pink. I used water-decals that I found at Dollarstore get a perfect finish. Put your water decals in water and slide off the backing. I applied mine close to the tip but you can place them anywhere you like. Add topcoat right away. This is super cute and easy for school.

I hope you guys enjoyed this post. I worked really hard on it so make sure to comment and tell me any ideas you have for more back to school posts. I’ll see you guys again soon. Bye!

Maybelline and Babylips Review!

Hi everyone! So I was looking through my posts and I realized I’ve only done one beauty review. Not only that but it was such a long time ago. I figured since as I said in my last post it was birthday, I’d review some of the stuff I got for it. Hope you enjoy!

The first out of the two products I’ll review is the Mascara. The Mascara I have is the Great Lash. I like how it comes in a few different shades for everyone, like brown, black, and clear. I have the clear one since I’m always rubbing my eyes and I don’t want my mascara going all over my eye when I do that. The brush is really great at separating the lashes and bring out there natural colour and volume. However it takes a long time to dry so it’s not great for on the run.

The other product I’m reviewing today is also by Maybelline. It’s there ever so popular “BabyLips”. I got the clear one because for back to school your not really aloud a lot of makeup do I usually go very neutral. The Babylips is very moisturizing but the applicator is a bit inconvenient. Also for some reason I find it smells like skunk. I would still recommend it though because the actual products is good.

So I hope you guys enjoyed this post. It’s a little short but I don’t think I need to make it much longer. I’ll see you guys again soon. Bye!

Birthday Haul!

Hi everybody! So I haven’t posted in a long time, and my birthday was on the 26th of July. I got lots of cool stuff that I’d love to share with you guys. Also I’ve loved all the comments on my blog. Hearing you guys saying that you love my posts means so much. Anyway, Hope you enjoy!

So the first thing I got was some Essie nail polish. As you all know by now Essie is one of my favourite brands. My brother got me their new Gel like finish topcoat which is great. It makes the colour pop and shine tremendously. It says its only good with Essie Colours but I’ve used it on Sinful Colours, OPI, an Joe Fresh. It all works the same. He also knew that I needed a new purple, and what better purple then Essie’s “Play-Date”. Its a bit deeper than a lavender, which is perfect for back-to-school.

Keeping on the topic of Nails my sister got me “Chillato” which is from Essie’s Summer 2015 collection. Its a creamy lemon and lime colour that is close to a white. Its consistency is a little goopy, but the colour is definitely worth it if you want a bit more of a challenge. I also received a set of “Impress by Broadway” stick on nails. They have an adhesive tab so all you have to do is peel the sticker. No glue needed, which is great because some nail glues can be damaging. My print was a black and white giraffe print with gold shimmer, which isn’t usually my style but while I was away we were at a waterpark and every girl there complemented me.

Moving on to some of the more random things, my Mum and Dad got me a ring stand. I have a lot of rings and they look gorgeous on the stand. They look just like they were in a jewelry store. She also got me tons of rings from Old Navy which I highly recommend since the designs are great and the quality is also good. My other brother got me a very cute set of temporary tattoos. There are metallic ones and they come in turquoise, gold, silver, and bronze. I absolutely love them for bracelets, because I hate the feeling of regular bracelets. The only thing I’ll wear on my wrist is a watch.

To wrap things up I’ll mention a few fashion items. Since I’m still in school I received loads of great back to school items. I love the look of jeans but whenever I wear them I find it so uncomfortable! Instead I wear stretchy pants that look like jeans. I love the look of darker denim as it suits me better. I also got lots of sweaters, since winter is coming up and in Canada it gets really cold. I got a swampy green one which is surprisingly cute, a light pink, and a blue that reminds me of Essie’ “Mint Candy Apple”.

So that’s most of the stuff I got for my birthday. I really hope you guys enjoyed this post. I’ll try to post as often as I can from now on. I’ll see you guys again soon. Bye!

Essie Nail Polish Dupes!

Hi everybody! So today I thought I would give you some idea for spring nail polishes along with dupes to get the same thing for free. These are all some of my favourite nail polish and I was surprised I could save over 3 dollars on each bottle. Essie is high quality, but they are pricey. I still highly recommend Essie as its one of my favs, but its helpful to save a few dollars especially if your on a budget. Hope you enjoy!

The first dupe is for Essie’s Penny Talk. The colour that almost a perfect match is Loreal’s #106 Versailles Gold. Its the same consistency and it dry’s really fast as well. Its a little darker and its a tiny bit less rosy then Penny Talk. Its still a great dupe and I recommend both.

The next dupe is for Essie’s Tart Décor. They dupe is Revlon’s “Just Peachy”. The Sinful Colours polish is called “Hazard”. All three of these polishes have amazing consistencies, as well as great brushes. What I particularly like about all of these is that over the years, the polish doesn’t crack or get sticky. The Revlon colour is a better match but the Sinful Colour’s polish is very close. It is a bit more red.

The next Essie dupe is for “Mint Candy Apple”. I haven’t met one person that doesn’t like this polish. Essence recently brought out the colour “That’s What I Mint!”. Its super similar in opacity and consistency but the only major difference is the brush. Essence’s brushes are very similar to Sally Hanson’s, as Essie’s is very common and normal. I highly recommend both of these polishes. (Especially for Summer)

The last Essie Dupe is for “Cute As A Button”. There are actually 2 dupes for this one. One of them is Bourjoi’s Anti Chip No smudge nail polish” in the shade Corail Rose”. Its consistency is kind of creamy and a but hard to apply, but the brush size makes it a lot easier to maneuver. The other dupe is Rimmel’s 60 second nail polish (Which I love) in the shade “Coral Calling”. This polish is fantastic, it doesn’t chip and it doesn’t smudge and it really does dry in a minute. I actually like this polish better then Essie’s “Cute as a Button.”

Thank you guys so much for reading! I really hope you guys enjoyed this post, and sorry I haven’t been posting regularly. I’ll see you guys again soon. Bye!

Cherrie Toaster Pies!

untitled168Hi everybody! So today I thought I would do a baking recipe. These are perfect for making as an evening dessert and then throwing them into the toaster the next morning for a delicious breakfast. These pies are a little harder then the recipes I normally post, but there still beginner and there totally worth the effort. Hope you enjoy!

What You Will Need:

One package of fresh cranberries

1 cup of granulated sugar

2 oranges

1 package of ready made piecrust

1 egg white (beaten)

1/2 cup of powdered sugar

Step One: For the filling, in a medium sized saucepan combine the cranberries and granulated sugar. Add in the zest and juice of one of the oranges. Cook over medium heat and cook while stirring for 10 minutes. Do so until the cranberries burst and the mixture thickens. Remove from the heat and let it cool completely. You can do this one day ahead if you prefer.

Step Two: For the actual pies flour a surface. Using a floured rolling pin, roll out the crust to be a 10×8 inch rectangle. Cut it into 4 equal pieces. Then repeat with however many pie crusts you have.

Step Three: Spread 2 to 3 tablespoons of the cooled filling into the middle of each rectangle crust. Brush some egg white on the corners and then put to pie crusts together. Lightly press the edges of the dough together with a fork, crimping the crust to a seal.

Step Four: Using the same fork, make a few wholes in the top to vent out the steam. Brush the top of the pies with the remaining egg whites, and place the pies on a baking sheet. Make sure to put parchment paper on the baking sheet so the pie don’t stick. Bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown. Let them cool completely.

Step Five: For the glaze, squeeze the juice out of the remaining orange. Use 2 tablespoons of the juice. In a small bowl combine the powdered sugar and all of the juice. Drizzle it on top of the pies and then your ready to serve!

Thank you guys so much for reading. I hope you enjoyed this post and let me know in the comments below if you like the baking recipes. I’ll see you guys again. Bye!

Pasta With Gorgonzola Sauce!

untitled167Hi everybody! So I haven’t done a cooking recipe on my blog in forever. Its one of my biggest passions, and I missed cooking. This recipe is super delicious and fairly easy to make. Hope you enjoy!

1/4 of cup of Gorgonzola Cheese

1/4 of a teaspoon of ground nutmeg

cup of ground Parmesan Cheese

2 Tablespoons of chopped fresh parsley

a pinch of pepper

Stalk of broccoli

Step One: In a large pot of boiling water cook the pasta according to the package direction. Drain the water out of the pasta and set aside. Cut up your broccoli and steam it until soft.

Step Two: For the sauce, in a large skillet melt the butter over medium heat. Whisk in the flour and cook while stirring for about a minute. Slowly add the milk, an whisk for 5 minutes until the consistency is creamy. Add the asparagus, and bring it to a simmer. Cook it until the sauce thickens. Add in the Gorgonzola Cheese, nutmeg, and a pinch of pepper.

Step Three: Add the pasta to the sauce on the skillet and stir until combined. Cook again for another minute or just until heated through. Then your ready to serve!

Thank you guys so much for reading. I hope you enjoyed this post and let me know in the comments below I you want to see more recipes. I’ll be doing a baking recipe soon so stay tuned. I’ll see you guys again soon. Bye!

April Favourites!

Hi everybody! So today I thought I would mention a few things I’ve been loving in April. I haven’t been loving that much new stuff but I figured I would do it anyway. Hope you enjoy!

The first thing I’ve been loving is a nail polish. The polish is by Pure Ice. Its a beautiful hot pink, but its not too in your face. These polishes don’t have names or numbers that I can see, but there aren’t many colours in the range. Its a great formula and it lasts long without chipping. All nail polishes eventually chip, and when it does it fixes well. When you apply a lite polish to wherever chipped, it blends together well and looks like a new mani.

The next thing I’ve been loving is lip balm. the brand its by is Aquafina. That’s a bottled water brand too, so I was surprised to see they carried lip balm. My friend gave it to me and I absolutely love it. Its a nice consistency that’s really moisturizing but not too sticky. It really coats your lips and seals them in. It soaks in really fast and covers up any blisters and cuts on your lips. My favourite flavour is “Citrus Orange”.

The next thing I’ve been loving is and app. I’m sure your all familiar with it but I thought I’d mention it anyway. The app is called “Crossy Road”. I highly recommend downloading it since its free, so you have nothing to lose. Its really fun and easy to play. My high score is 456.

The next thing I’ve been loving this month is a instrument. Its the guitar. I’ve never been able to play the guitar, and its always been really hard to learn. I played Piano and Flute instead. My mom recently got something to help you learn. Its called cord buddy. You attach it to your guitar and press buttons instead of cords. Once you get used to the sounds and cords your ready to go. It came in the mail in 3 days which is great service. I highly recommend.

untitled163The last thing I’ve been loving is a nail polish. I’ve talked about this plenty times before but its a really good one. Its Essie’s “Penny Talk”. Its a shiny bronze shades that dry’s in seconds. It goes on in one coat and the brush is great. The consistency is perfect and its almost a neutral, but its shiny and so pretty. I highly recommend. For my readers in Canada, my friends told me that you can now buy Essie in the Dollar Store! It might no be true, but that would be awesome. I’ll check it out over the weekend, and let you guys know. Essie’s more expensive so a cheaper version would be great.

Thanks so much for reading.  Sorry that this monthly favourites is a little late this time. I’ll see you guys again soon. Bye!

Spring Nail Designs!

Hi everybody! So today I thought I would give you guys some ideas for spring nail designs. I been inspired by some awesome people on Instagram, and I have some cute and easy designs. Each of these designs don’t use any nail art tools too. Hope you enjoy!

The first nail design is called “Boarder Nails”. Start by picking out your 2 favourite polish colours. Then paint your nail one colour, as you would for anything else. Then taking your other colour (preferably the darker colour) paint one stoke down the middle of your nail. Then make it look circular. Leave a good amount of the other colour along the sides like shown in the picture. Add a topcoat and then while the topcoat is still wet you can press a metallic stud into the top.

The next nail design is a zig-zag pattern. Start by once again, choosing 2 of your favourite colours. Paint your nails the lightest colour out of the 2. Then let that dry for over an hour. The reason for that is the tape might remove the polish. Having it dry prevents that. Take your tape and cut it into pointy triangles. Place three triangles on the nail and then paint over it wit the other colour. Remove the tape immediately. Apply a top coat when your done to smooth out the two layers.

The last nail design is an easy triangle design. Paint your nails a brassy tope colour. Let that dry for a few minutes. Then take a striper brush, and dip it in white polish. Make a few triangles by doing a small line then the other two. Make them as strait as possible, so it looks like you used a template. Let that completely dry for about an hour and then apply a matte topcoat. My favourite matte topcoat is by Essie. Its called “Matte About You”. It doesn’t leave your nails looking gross, like some matte topcoats can do.

Thank you guys so much for reading! I hope you guy enjoyed these spring designs. Thank you for all the awesome comments as well. I read all of them and they make me so happy. I’ll see you guys again soon. Bye!l.

Shopping Haul!

Hi everybody! So as I said before I went to a birthday party. We went to the local mall and I have got a few things. All of these items together added up to 40$. The prices might be different wherever you live considering I live and pay in Canadian dollars. Anyway, I’m trying to add more and bigger pictures to the blog but let me know what you think. So, Hope you enjoy!

The first place we went was Bath and Body Works. I really like there hand sanitizers, and they all smell so great. They have a deal for 2 for 5$ so I got “Hawaiian Hibiscus” “Sunshine Lemons” and “Georgia Peach”. “Hawaiian Hibiscus” is the nicest most subtle floral scent I’ve ever smelled. I was tempted to buy the perfume but I didn’t want to waist all my money. “Georgia Peach” smells like what those little cans of syrup peaches taste like. The actual sanitizer itself is really great. It has small blue exfoliates that makes your hands really soft. “Sunshine Lemons” is a strong citrus scent.

The next place we went to was Lush. I’m always really hesitant in Lush because I’m not really one for glitter (in the bath). For Christmas though, my sister got me a bath bomb called “Honey Bee”. Its nice and a subtle not so over powering scent. I got that one again and I believe it was 5.45$. It makes my skin really soft and it creates a lot of bubbles as well.

The next place we went to was Sephora. I was absolutely obsessed with “Spirited” and “Spark from one of my Florida hauls. I had to go back again and I found a beautiful colour. The colour I got was “Incisive”. Its like Spirited but once shade darker. I didn’t really need it considering I already had Spirited but it was really cute and that sold it for me. Its really pigmented but it goes on a bit streaky. It took me 3 coats but it wasn’t that big a deal. I would still highly recommend this polish and this brand.

untitled153The next store we went to was Claire’s. I was kind of shocked at how over priced a lot of stuff was. Although, I did still by a few things. The first thing I got was a duo of necklaces. It was an infinity sign, that said, “Forever”. It has a really small band, so its sort of a choker. One was silver and the other was gold. I also got a set of 4 rings. Each ring had a letter that spelled L-O-V-E.

The next place we went was Dairy Queen. I know its not really a “store” but I love the Orange Julius’s. My favourite is strawberry banana.

Thank you guys so much for reading! I’ve also read all of your guys comments. Thanks for all the support but I was asked if I had a social media account where you could see behind the scenes pictures and lots of other cool stuff. Me, being a big fan of Intsagram I decided to make one for the blog! I’ll do Q&A’s and lots of other cool stuff for you guys. (Possibly even Give-Aways!). Anyway, the Username for that profile is afewofmyfavthings7! I’ll see you guys again soon. Bye!
