New Years Eve Ideas!

untitled6untitled 4img-thing

New years eve is a special night when you get to say goodbye to one year and get to say hello to another one. New years eve is all about getting comfy, sitting on your sofa and watching the ball drop at midnight. So, today I will give you 3 Different amazingly comfortable and stylish outfits to wear on New Years Eve. Hope you enjoy!

So our first outfit is a loose over sized off-white sweater that I got from Areopostale. Then some black leggings from Costco made by the brand Dalia. Then some silver rings. For shoes wear black booties, or slim fit black sneakers. Then to top it all of with a little bit of glam wear a white knitted beanie that is relevantly similar to your sweater in design and colour.

Our Second outfit is a long flowy maxi-dress that’s red. Pair this dress with long black nee high socks and cute simple black flats . Let your jewelry be the statement  with this festive attire, so add a silvery skinny neck chain with a large silver piece to add  touch of fun to this outfit.

The last outfit of the night is simple and it has a plain-Jane feel to it but it still looks great for a casual get together.  Wear a fitted t-shirt that’s red, grey, gold, or green. These colours are known as Christmasy New Year cloths colours. Pair your shirt with simple black pants or dark  jeans. It may sound simple but it is really comfy and it will definatly make your night that much more enjoyable.

I hope you guys enjoyed this blog post as I worked very hard on it. I hope you had a lovely Christmas and best wishes to you and your family for a happy New Year. Thanks for reading I’ll see you guys again soon! Bye!

Nail Polish!

One of my favourite things to do is paint my nails. It’s a great pass time and I enjoy learning and practicing the skill each time I do it. When painting your nails, there are two important things you need. One is a know-how on how to paint your nails properly with the correct strokes and brushes. The other thing that plays a huge roll in painting your nails is your polish. Today I will be talking about my favourite brands of polish and my experiences with different brands. Also, I will tell you all of the good colours for this season. Hope you enjoy!

Revlon: Revlon nail polish is a very thin polish and you will defiantly need at least 3 coats to get a opaque result. The colours I have tried are #390 Pastel Punk and #360 Vincent Van Gold. Pastel Punk is an incredibly light, very white toned grey. I have it in a thin brush polish and it’s great for creating stripes on your nails but you have to go over your stripes as neatly as possible about 4 times. Vincent Van Gold is a beautiful, thin sparkled gold. The glitter is not chunky, just part of the polish. This colour is absolutely sophisticated and fun at the same time. You can easily dress this up or down depending on what you decide to wear. Either way this nail polish is a must for any funky or chic girl.

Kiss Nails: Kiss Nails Topcoats come in  3 different finishes; gloss, matte, and shimmer. The gloss finish is perfect if you have a manicure that you don’t want to chance anything about. You can slide a bit on and it dries quite fast. The matte topcoat doesn’t work as it doesn’t give a matte finish and it changes the colour of your polish. I once applied it over a turquoise polish I was wearing and it made it a swampy greenish swirl of turquoise and green, I do not recommend the matte finish top coat from Kiss Nails. The last finish is the shimmer finish. The shimmer finish works well and does exactly what it should but the only issue is that the “shimmer” is a fuchsia colour. So when you apply it gives off a fuchsia shimmer. The fuchsia shimmer is fine but if you just wanted a clear shimmer then this isn’t the polish for the job.

China Glaze: China Glaze has a fantastic range of beautiful colours that always look fantastic. I used #872 Pool Party. This colour has a beautiful matte finish that makes it look like a peach coloured chalk board. This colour is quite shear and you probably will want 2 coats for best results. This nail polish also dries incredibly fast. You can quickly paint both hands and when you’re finished your nails will be fully dried, as long as you don’t glob it on and you do 2 thin coats.

Sinful Colours: Sinful Colours have several varieties of endlessly beautiful colours for your nails for any mood, occasion, and personality. The colours I have tried from their line are #101 Snow Me White, #1032 Rosy Red, and #376 Glass Pink. Snow Me White is a creamy slightly antique white. The brush is a nice shape for larger and wider finger nails. The bottle is larger then other bottles so it’s a good buy. This particular white it goes on best in a medium sized glob, then just spread it out with your clean brush. Rosy Red is a deep blood red that is very elegant and classy looking on the nails. This colour only needs one thin coat as it is quite opaque. Glass Pink is an incredibly shear pink. It can almost be classified as a topcoat. I put this on my nails yesterday and it goes on well, but you would need at least 10 coats to make this opaque. Its a lovely sweet colour with the perfect amount of clear shimmer; perfect for winter or summer.

Boundless Colour: Boundless Colour topcoats are perfect! The chunky glitter always spreads evenly on the nail due to the wide and thin brush. The colour I have tried is # 405 Disco Dazzle. Disco Dazzle is a chunky honey comb shaped silver glitter polish. This polish is a topcoat, but to make statement you could wear it on bear nails. I recommend this product as it adds the perfect amount of glam to any outfit.

Smackers: Smackers started off as a lip balm company and now they’ve come out with a new nail polish line. The colours I have tried are, J21, J23, and J24. These bottles are quite small so they are not the best buy. The colour range is not ideal as its very basic and the whole line is blue toned which doesn’t complement many other colours. The brush size is small which is ideal for designs but is not good if you are going for a solid nail of one colour. I do recommend J24 as it is a lovely gold shimmer topcoat. J24 is ideally paired with coral toned reds, and oranges. As for any Smackers Polish I do not recommend it.

Essie Polish: Essie polish is world famous for their fantastic line of polishes. The colours I have tried are , #752 Turquoise and Caicos, #584 Tart Deco, #764 Bikini So Teeny, #556 Meet Me At Sunset, #900 She’s Pampered. All of these polishes are utterly amazing. The brush size and width is fantastic for any nail size. Each colour is perfectly opaque and the no chip topcoat is amazing. I had a perfect manicure for over a month and that’s saying something because I’m a busy person. They are more expensive than your average polish but it is more then worth the price. This polish has one down side; it takes a long tome to dry (but once it’s dry it is beyond compare.) I cant recommend this brand enough.

Thank you guys for reading this. I know this was long but I hope that this helped you get an insight on different brands. Have fun painting!

Ginger Bread People!

untitledHello everybody! Christmas is today and I know its a little late for this but if you have a party, or a holiday get together this recipe is perfect and it only takes about an hour. Hope you enjoy!

3 cups of all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon of baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoons of ground cinnamon

1/2 teaspoons of ground ginger

3 tablespoons of unsalted butter at room temperature

1/2 cup of packed dark brown sugar

1/4 cups of dark molasses

1/3 cup of water

Step One: In a medium sized bowl whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and spices. Then you can set that aside.

Step Two: In another large bowl, using an electric mixer, cream the butter until light and fluffy, that will take about 1 to 2 minutes. Then beat the sugar and molasses in with the butter then blend in the water. Then add in your dry ingredients.

Step Three: Knead the dough with your hands and shape it into a ball. The wrap your dough ball in plastic wrap or aluminium foil. Then refrigerate for 10 minutes or until its slightly firm.

Step Four: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit . Line metal baking sheets with parchment paper.

Step Five: Lightly flour a smooth surface then take your dough out of the fridge and roll it out with a floured rolling pin. Make your cookies as thick as you like but the thicker they are the fluffier they are when baked.

Step Six: Take any cookie cutters you like and cut out your cookies. Ginger Bread Men cookie cutters work best. Once all your cookies are cut out then you can place them in even rows on your baking sheets.

Step Seven: Bake in the center of your oven for 4-5 minutes or until the edges of your cookies are a light brownish gold.

Step eight: Take your cookies out of the oven and let them cool for 20-30 minutes or until there cool to the touch. Then get out your festive icing and sprinkles and decorate them minimally. These cookies taste best with small amounts of icing and sprinkles, so don’t go too crazy.

Step Nine: Enjoy your cookies!

Merry Christmas Everyone! I hope this recipe was of some use to you. Enjoy your holidays and if your traveling this year then safe travels there and back! Have a great holiday and I’ll see you some time soon. Good Bye!
