These little heart jam thumbprint cookies are simple, sweet, and effortlessly on theme for Valentines. I made them to bring to our ‘Galentine’s’ party for all my single friends, and they were a great addition to our spread. You’ll see them pop up again on our table-scape in a future post!

Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- ½ cup powdered sugar
- 1 large egg yolk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon of milk
- ½ cup seedless raspberry jam

Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F
- Line two baking sheets with parchment paper
- In one bowl, mix together the softened butter and powdered sugar until smooth
- Add the egg yolk and vanilla to the butter/sugar mixture, and mix until fully incorporated
- Sprinkle in the salt, and then gradually mix in your flour
- If your dough becomes too dry, add in a splash a milk
- Roll the dough into 1 inch balls using the palms of your hands
- Place each ball on the prepared baking sheet, leaving about an inch between each one
- Use the palm of your hand to slightly flatten the dough into puck shapes
- Gently press your thumb (or pointer finger) into the centre of each ball twice, to form the shape of a heart
- Stir the jam with your spoon to ensure a smooth consistency before applying to the cookies
- Using a small spoon, fill the well you have just created on your cookies with jam in the shape of a heart
- Bake for around 12-14 minutes, these cookies should be taken out long before their edges turn brown

Enjoy!
